Hubei Mengshijia Special Purpose Vehicle Co., Ltd Central African Youth Cultural Forum held in Shiyan: Innovation empowers cultural youth to lead the future

On June 18th, the China Africa Youth Cultural Forum, hosted by the All China Youth Federation and organized by the Hubei Youth Federation, Hubei International Cultural Exchange Center, and Shiyan Youth Federation, was held in our city. The theme of this forum is "Innovation Empowers Cultural Youth to Lead the Future". Dong Xia, Deputy Secretary General of the All China Youth Federation, Yu Ke, Deputy Secretary of the Shiyan Municipal Committee and Mayor, Ahmed Weisichang Benin, Secretary General of the Pan African Youth Union, attended the forum and delivered speeches. Liu Zhitian, Honorary Chairman of the Hubei Youth Federation, and Zhang Shu, Deputy Secretary of the Shiyan Municipal Committee, also attended the forum. More than 60 youth organization leaders and representatives from various fields from countries such as China, Ghana, Kenya, and Egypt participated in this forum.
Dong Xia stated in her speech that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the opening of diplomatic relations between China and Africa, as well as the year of cultural exchanges between China and Africa. For 70 years, China and Africa have always adhered to the concept of openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation, setting an example for countries around the world to carry out unity and cooperation and achieve independent and self reliant development. I hope that the young people of China and Africa can be the inheritors of China Africa friendship, the promoters of mutual learning of civilizations, and the creators of working together to continue writing a new chapter of China Africa friendly cooperation
Yu Ke, on behalf of the Shiyan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, extended a warm welcome to all distinguished guests. He stated that Shiyan will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with African countries, establish diverse platforms for youth engagement, and comprehensively expand practical collaboration in areas such as trade, culture, education, healthcare, and ecology. The city aims to achieve broader scope, wider fields, and deeper levels of mutually beneficial outcomes, contributing local wisdom and strength to building a new-era, all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future.
Ahmed Wissam Benin said that the 70-year friendship between China and Africa has been continuously deepening, and the vast number of young people should shoulder the heavy responsibility. He suggested relying on Chinese technology and the demographic dividend of African youth to achieve development integration; strengthening the foundation of mutual trust among the people through youth cultural exchanges, so that cooperation goes beyond infrastructure; establishing a normalized mechanism for youth dialogue and exchanges, using humanistic exchanges to build consensus, and working together to create an inclusive and win-win development pattern, and jointly build a peaceful and prosperous future.
The forum featured a rich array of content. In the keynote speech segment, Huang Yongchang, Deputy Director of the Wudang Culture Research and Dissemination Center in Hubei Province, profoundly expounded on the essence of Wudang culture and traditional Chinese wisdom. Mostafa Abbas, President of the Egyptian Youth Federation, shared the achievements of African youth cultural innovation practices, drawing from the practical development of Africa. The youth dialogue session was filled with a lively atmosphere, where young leaders from China and Africa, hailing from fields such as cultural museums, universities, cultural and creative industries, and the automotive industry, actively explored new paths for cultural inheritance and new directions for industrial integration and development, leveraging their professional strengths and industry characteristics. At the event, the "Building Dreams on the Silk Road" China-Africa Youth Development Plan project list was also unveiled.
The China-Africa Youth Cultural Forum aims to implement the outcomes of the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in 2024, and is a key brand event for the "China-Africa People-to-People Exchange Year" in 2026. During their stay in Shiyan, African youth representatives visited places such as Wudang Mountain, the South-to-North Water Diversion Project Exhibition Hall, and the Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle D600 Smart Factory, immersing themselves in the ecological heritage, cultural charm, and industrial strength of Shiyan.
